A Message from Pastor
I pray you are having a great start to your summer! We have enjoyed some meals outside, and time with dear family and friends in the last couple of weeks. While we are "dialing back" on some things, we remain focused and busy with the work of the Church! Next Sunday we are having our annual June Voter's meeting (after the Sunday service on June 28). This is an important meeting - we will give reports from the different boards, elect a slate of candidates for elected positions, and discuss and vote on our upcoming budget. If you are a member of St. Andrews, you are eligible to vote. Please make every effort to be at the voter's meeting! The more you learn about the ministry of St. Andrews, the more the blessed the ministry will be!

A Message from teacher Carrie Kuehm
Over the past several years my husband, Jim, and I have been wanting to relocate to a place where the winters are milder. Last week I was extended a call to a Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church and School in San Antonio, Texas to be their kindergarten teacher. I feel that God has led me to accept this call. I will be moving in late July. I have mixed feelings as I write this message to you because St. Andrews has been such an important part of my life for the past 11 years. What an exceptional church and school I have been blessed to be at! Thank you for the kindness you have always shown to me. If my new church and school are even half as generous as you have been, I will feel blessed. I will still be here through the weekend of July 18th/19th, so hopefully I will get a chance to see many of you in the meantime.

Dear St. Andrews Congregation,
The support, encouragement, kindness, and faith that have surrounded me throughout my years at St. Andrews have shaped not only my career but also my life. As I reflect on these years, I am reminded of God's faithfulness and the many blessings He has provided through this congregation.
Thank you for allowing me the privilege of serving alongside you. I will always cherish the memories, relationships, and faith we have shared together.
Thank you also for the many cards, gifts, and the outpouring of love you have shown me during my retirement. Your thoughtfulness and generosity have touched my heart more than words can express. I am truly blessed and deeply grateful for each of you.
May God continue to bless this congregation and school for many years to come.

GIFT PLANNING: A good gift plan within an estate includes inheritance for family and gifts to ministry. As you consider an estate gift to your favorite ministry, should you talk with ministry leaders in this planning? What if the gift you want to give to your favorite ministry does not fit into that ministry’s future? For example, you want to give a $20,000 gift for a future pipe organ. The total cost would be $5 Million. No one else shares your same desire. That gift would be orphaned and would never accomplish anything. Conversations with ministry leaders can help discern this. Your LCMS Foundation Associate Gift Planning Counselor can help to get this conversation going. . Contact Ray Pagels by phone at 847-226-2262 or email [email protected]

FOOD PANTRY UPDATE: 157 households visited the St Paul of the Cross food pantry in May. Most needed items are cold cereal, pancake syrup, pasta sauce and plain WHITE rice (l lb.). Thank you for your continuing support!
EXODUS WORLD SERVICE: This Saturday and Sunday (June 20/21) are our final collection dates for the Household Care Pack items. Please place your gifts for the refugee families in the laundry basket located in the narthex. Thank you!

MISSION OF THE MONTH: The St. Matthew Soup Kitchen, El Comedor San Mateo, our mission of the month, is located at 2108 W. 21at Street, in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood. It offers free meals to homeless and u8nemployed neighbors served by staff members and a cadre of faithful volunteers that includes several formerly homeless folks who once ate at the soup kitchen. Devotions at each meal bring the Gospel to the soup kitchen clients, providing food for the soul along with the food they receive for their bodies. If you are moved to volunteer for occasional or regular service to the soup kitchen, call 773-847-6458 to volunteer.

How the Sausage is Made (Sermon Study) - June 16, 2026
Pastor Matt reviews his sermon on Psalm 19, and how God gives evidence into his nature in the nature we see in the heavens. Pastor Ethan talks about his upcoming sermon on Psalm 34 and God's gracious order, which he gives us in the midst of our disorder and chaos.

Order Out of Chaos
Pastor Ethan helps us meditate on the poetic brilliance of Psalm 34. King David, through the inspiration of the Spirit, wrote these beautiful words amidst a chaotic season in his life. He cried out to God, and God answered him. Psalm 34 reminds us that no matter what we endure, there is always deliverance, hope, and rescue through Christ.

The Law of the Lord is Perfect
Pastor Matt takes us through Psalm 19 and connects it to Matthew 5:17-20. In the Gospel we learn how much Jesus values the Law of God, and in the Psalms we learn that even the Cosmos gives evidence to God's order, laws, and rules. God's Law is perfect, and if we open our eyes, we get to see it at …
