A Message from Pastor
Every three years, members of our church body gather together from all over the country to take part in the National Synodical Convention. Every circuit sends representatives. This year the convention will be in Phoenix Arizona, July 18-23. In years past, we have been blessed to have Jeff Heller go as our circuit lay delegate. This year, Pastor Ethan is going to represent the churches in our area as the Pastoral Delegate. Keep our Synod in your prayers as there are many important things that will be brought before our delegates. Pray for faithfulness to Christ's mission and faithfulness to the Word of God and solid doctrine. Pray for our universities and seminaries as they prepare the future leaders for service in our churches and schools. Pray that all continues to be done to the Glory of God.

TRANSFER THE BLESSINGS: Your Christian Preamble
We often think about our “Last Will and Testament” simply as directing dollars. But in effect, it is your last word about anything that is on your heart. Most people don’t use it for that, but you can. You can include a “Christian Preamble” by which you testify to your faith. FOOD PANTRY UPDATE: 165 households visited the St Paul of the Cross food pantry in June. Most needed items are cold cereal, pancake mix and syrup, canned tuna and WHITE rice (l lb.). Thank you for your continuing support!

MISSION OF THE MONTH: Mission India, our July mission of the month, takes a holistic approach to the people it hopes to reach for Christ. Because many families need the income from their working children ages 5-14., child labor is rampant in India. These uneducated children grow up without the necessary skills to provide adequately for their families. Reaching children Through Bible clubs has been an effective way to break the poverty cycle. Children are enrolled in these clubs where they are introduced to the Gospel, along with singing, games, and tutoring. Parents are invited to see what their children have learned, and are thus also introduced to the Gospel. In addition, Mission India offers adult literacy classes to the many illiterate people of India. UNESCO estimates that India is home to over 200 million people who have never had the opportunity to be educated. They were never taught hygiene habits, they can’t read street signs, and often marry off very young daughters in order to have one less mouth to feed. Adults can attend the Mission India Gospel-oriented literacy classes after work each day and learn basic reading and math skills. In addition, they learn about their rights in society and the importance of sending their children to school, as well as information about nutrition and child-rearing.
