NOTES FROM THE CHURCH OFFICE:
Sunday is our last time to meet for this school year! We will meet in classrooms around 9:50 after the celebration in the gym to recognize all our Sunday School teachers immediately after the 8:30 service. All are welcome to come!
At 10:30, Sunday School will gather in the kindergarten classroom for one final lesson together, so you may pick your children up at 10:45 there.
Last Sunday, the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students shopped for the food pantry. They comparison shopped and using Sunday school funds, they were able to buy $500 worth of groceries for $350. Way to go!!

A good gift plan within an estate includes inheritance for family and gifts to ministry. Some might consider this a difficult task. How does an LCMS Foundation Gift Planning Counselor help? You may wish to include a very deliberate spiritual focus on your plan. Your LCMS Foundation Associate Gift Planning Counselor is a fell member of the LCMS. They can discuss with you, pray with you, all with an eye toward uncovering God’s plan for significant use of His gifts. Contact Ray Pagels at [email protected] or his cell 847.226.2262.

FOOD PANTRY UPDATE: 184 households visited the St Paul of the Cross food pantry in March. Most needed items are paper towels, cooking oil (vegetable, canola or olive), ketchup and mac and cheese. Thank you for your continuing support!

MISSION OF THE MONTH: Military chaplains train and serve with the military units to which they are assigned, both in peacetime and during times of military conflict. Men and women in the military are often under a great deal of stress, as shown by a significant number of suicides among military personnel. Likewise, the families they leave behind experience a large amount of stress when deployments take place. Our May Mission of the Month, the LCMS Ministry to the Armed Forces, is an important outreach to the men and women in the military, ministering to them with the Gospel as chaplains serve side-by-side with them.

How the Sausage is Made (Sermon Study) - 06/25/2026
Pastor Ethan recaps his sermon on Psalm 34 and talks about what it is like to write a sermon during an unusual week and what he would have liked to talk more about. Pastor Matt gets into his upcoming sermon on Psalm 42, and some of the overview of the 2nd book in the 5 divisions of the Psalms.

Faith in the Wilderness
In the Fourth week of the Psummer of Psalms, we enter in to second of 5 sections of the book of Psalms. As we look at Psalm 42, we see many parallels to the book of Exodus and we learn that this song teaches us how to live faithfully in those times when it seems that God is far off. …

Order Out of Chaos
Pastor Ethan helps us meditate on the poetic brilliance of Psalm 34. King David, through the inspiration of the Spirit, wrote these beautiful words amidst a chaotic season in his life. He cried out to God, and God answered him. Psalm 34 reminds us that no matter what we endure, there is always deliverance, hope, and rescue through Christ.
