A Message from Pastor
This weekend we celebrate an important milestone in our country, the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independance and Nationhoood! While so much has changed over the last two and half centuries, what hasn't changed is the importance of freedom. Your coming to church today is exercising an important freedom, in fact the first one listed in The Constitution - "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..." Throughout the last 250 years, many have fought and given their lives to maintain our freedoms, includind this one. Thank you for honoring the blood-won freedom of worship by coming to celebrate the ultimate blood-won, eternal freedom Christ gave us through His death on the cross for our sins and sealed to us with his empty tomb. Blessed 4th of July weekend!

TRANSFER THE BLESSINGS: Did you know?? Your will or trust says that 80% of your assets will go to family and details a 20% gift to your favorite ministry. However, a review of your financial assets today shows that beneficiary designations direct 100% of the value to your spouse (as primary) or 100% to your children (as contingent or secondary). That 20% designation to ministry in your will or trust might in reality only represent 2% of your estate value: beneficiary designations trump wills or trusts. Your LCMS Foundation Associate Gift Planning Counselor can help you see the true picture. Contact Ray Pagels at [email protected] or his cell: 847-226-2262.

MISSION OF THE MONTH: The St. Andrews mission of the month for July, Mission India, is a very important mission outreach in India. India is a country that is home to an immense number of poverty-stricken people. In India 130 million people live on less than $2.15 of income per day which contributes to childhood malnutrition. According to the World Bank, nearly half of India’s children—approximately 60 million—are underweight. A huge number of people in India live in slums in makeshift dwellings cobbled together with tarps and tin roofs, with dirt floors. Illiteracy and poverty go hand in hand in India, People who can’t sign their names can’t apply for jobs, while not being able to count makes it nearly impossible for people to know when they are being short-changed. Parents are often unaware of proper hygiene and nutrition, so many children suffer from a variety of diseases. Mission India brings the hope of the Gospel to people who otherwise have little reason to have hope, and it takes seriously the need to help lift people out of poverty.

Jesus Keeps No Records
We keep records of everything, and it is a good thing we do! We need to pay taxes, update Passports, make sure payments are made on our utilies, etc. But what about a record of the bad things - of our sins? In Psalm 130 we learn that God does not keep a record of our sins. But how can …

More Than We Expect
Pastor Ethan takes on the beautiful prayer of Psalm 110 this week, wherein King David describes what to expect from the coming Messiah. David sees a Savior Who reigns eternal, Who rules with power, and Who presides as priest and mediator for His people. David sees someone unimaginably greater than himself - He sees The King Jesus. Listen in to …
